PICNIC REPORT AUGUST 2022
Thank you to all of the members, families, and guests that attended the annual picnic on Sunday. Approximately 100 attendees enjoyed Burgers, Brats, Dogs, Beer and , of course sweet corn
DGSC is a “volunteer organization". This was evident last weekend with the participation of many members and their wives.
Patti Novak arranged for most of the food and made sure there was plenty available.
Marianne Gronych handled the bucket and 50/50 raffles, the hot bucket raffle prize was 1000 Remington STS 209 primers with 88 entr9ies. There were 30 bucket prizes awarded.
Dan Bellus was the “Corn Guy” and ran the grill all day with help from Jud Mann, Kevin McCauley, & Cody Hammons. Tim Donnel was kind enough to Pick up 180 ears of corn at Keller Farms.
Don Cox arranged for and delivered a ¼ Barrel of beer. Try as they might we were unable to “float the keg”
The grounds as always were Pristine! Thanks to Kevin, George Adelman, Brian Svoboda, Tom Maslowski, Bob Glass, and Keith Uffleman.
Set up and take down was again handled by George, Kevin, Brian, Tom, and Bob. John Semprini helped with preparation on Saturday, Ralph Mastrioni helped out on Sunday.
290 Tickets were sold for the gun raffle. Ralph Mastioni and Chuck Feuillan each sold 50 ticket. Winners were as follows:
1. Henry Golden Boy >22 cal lever action rifle: Roy Skoog
2. Sig Saur 365 P 9mm Pistol With optics: Steve Patke
3. 2 flats Winchester Expert 12 ga shells: Loren Brooks
Thank you to Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas in Bolingbrook for their participation in the purchase and delivery of the 2 guns
I am sure there were others that helped out. I apologize in advance to anyone I omitted. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had enough to eat
