Start the new year with DGSC on January 1st from 1pm to 4pm. All Senior & Shooting members, families, and friends are invited.
We ask that each family provide an appetizer, salad, “side dish”, or dessert. (Sign up at the counter)
DGSC “Chefs” will furnish the main course (ham & ?) “BYOB” bring your own beverage
DGSC will be open for shooting 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Your 2025 DGSC Membership will be expiring at the end of the year and you should have received your Renew via email already.

The renewal form was attached to the email sent. Please fill in the form completely and print your responses. All information must be provided, even if it is unchanged from last year. It’s important to verify and complete all the information requested. We will continue to send club information via email and texting to cell phones. Be sure to legibly print your email address and cell phone number. As a member of DGSC, membership of the National Rifle Association is a requirement as stated within the By-Laws. Please provide your updated NRA and FOID information including expiration dates. If your membership in the NRA has lapsed, you can renew your NRA membership at the Service Counter.

To renewal you can mail your renewal form with check (not recommended to mail cash) to Downers Grove Sportsmen’s Club (DGSC) P.O. Box 270, Morris, IL 60450 (remember do not mail it to the Old Stage Road address) or if you wish you can bring your renewal and drop it off at the DGSC Counter where you can pay by check or credit card.

Once we receive the correct information, your 2026 DGSC membership badge will be ready within 10 days at the service counter.

Beginning Saturday Sept.13, food service will again be available on Tuesdays & Saturdays. Breakfast will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon. (Days, hours, and lunch menu, may be “expanded” in the future pending response). The success of this “added” member benefit is dependent on the support of our members and guests! Breakfast will ne available for the general membership meeting on Sunday, September 21, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Due to severe weather the Board postponed the December General Membership Meeting to Sunday December 21st. Better weather is anticipated (30+ degree according to long-range forecast). Remember the December meeting is the annual election and an opportunity for you to meet your 2026 Board of Directors. This is your time to present your suggestions and concerns to your 2026 Board. Breakfast will be provided to Senior Members attending.

Shoot for Turkeys (average 12-14#) Saturday, November 15th 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Games to inclue:

Shooters will be limited to 2 prizes per event. All events are open to DGSC Members, Shooting Members, Guests, Families, and Friends. DGSC kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch

A slate of candidates and “nominations from the floor” will be announced at the Nov. 23 9:30 am General Membership meeting. “Floor nominees” must be present or must accept the nomination in writing to be included on the ballot.

Senior members, we are reaching out with an exciting call for new leadership to join our Board of Directors. For the DGSC to remain a modern, vibrant, and forward-thinking club, we need new blood and fresh energy at the highest level. Many of our current Board members have dedicated themselves to serving the club for over ten years. They handle the essential, often thankless administrative duties, and we owe them immense gratitude. We need a Board that is interested in all venues of the current shooting community. We need members with the desire, ability, and energy to participate in the management of Downers Grove Sportsmen’s Club. Larry passed on August 19,2025 at the age of 79. Larry is survived by his wife, Diane, son, Larry Bruce White, and grandchildren, Nicholas K. White and Alexandra Accardo.

An avid trapshooter, Larry spent many hours shooting at DGSC. This past year he celebrated shooting 100,00 registered singles targets and 50 years as a member of the ATA. Larry spent many hours at the club as a volunteer. He volunteered on the trap counter, ran several trap/skeet leagues, worked with the grounds and buildings committees, organized and ran many annual “Turkey” Shoots. As a model DGSC member he was always prepared to assist “new shooters” share his love for our sport.

A “celebration of life” will be held at Downers Gove Sportsmen’s Club on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. After a few words from his family and friends, cake and coffee will be served. Several of his friends have initiated funds to purchase a memorial tree and plaque. The tree will be planted along the DGSC drive with the trees for Frank DeGrazia, Dean Kerhulas, Mark Matteson, and Chuck Feuillan. Please take time to remember these gentlemen as you pass by.

DGSC in September hosted a Sporting Clay Event for Tallgrass Chapter of Pheasants Forever, they as well as senior member Scott Krneta presented a plaque in appreciation to DGSC.

Frank DeGrazia friends and family gathered at DGSC to celebrate senior member Frank DeGrazia with a tree ceramony.

Saturday October 25th 11am - 3pm, tables are available for DGSC members ($10). There will be limited tables, it is first come first serve be sure to contact Paul Burlington to reserve a table. The kitchen will be open for Breakfast and Lunch. Please note that no FFL Dealer will be onsite, firearm transactions are the responsiblity of the buyer and seller.

October 12th, 2025 join DGSC for the Herman Welch / Grundy County Fall Handicap for ATA registered targets.
